Question

Want to buy but need it to work first -- ppt to flash (with audio)

Ultimately, I want a .pptx or .ppsx file to be available on Moodle.  This is why I have the trial version of Captivate 5.5, and I'm prepared to buy the software if I can just see that it will work with what I want it to do.

My .ppt converts ok (appearance-wise). There is audio in the .ppt, but it doesn't seem to move with the conversion.

Lastly, it seems to only save a cptx file--how can I save it as flash?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide ...

Nancy

You are best advised NOT to worry about adding your audio via PPT but add it in Captivate AFTER you've imported your PPT slides.

You don't save your Captivate project as a different filetype.  You publish it out to a number of formats, one of which is SWF with an HTM and JS file required for the SWF to play properly.  The Publish button is located on the Captivate toolbar.

Thanks for your (very quick) answer!

The .ppt already has all of the recording, and we'd hate to lose and redo that.  Is there any way to bring it over in the conversion?

I would advise against it.  Export your sound files as WAV or high resolution MP3 and then import them into Captivate on the relevant slides.

PPT is not really set up to deliver audio voiceover the way Captivate is.  Chalk this one up to experience and next time just do the audio in Captivate.
