Want to know about video based module development

We are planning to create SCORM compliant video based modules of 2 -3 minutes followed by activity. The video would be created in another software and imported to Captivate 9. Both the sections would be developed on captivate screens. Further, it needs to be responsive.

Kindly let me know whether it is possible to do so on captivate 9. If yes, give me a direction to take it forward. Would really appreciate response from the community. Categorical "NO" or a workaround is also ok atleast i would know the limitations and look at alternatives.

Your videos won't be responsive, even if the Captivate project that you insert them into IS responsive. For true responsive design the video's aspect ratio would need to be capable of changing from Landscape to Portrait, yet still fill the screen. Personally, I have never seen that happen with any video file. Have you?

If most of your content is going to be video, I suggest you DO NOT use Responsive but just normal HTML5 Landscape and size the project file appropriately for most tablet or desktops.

Video has to be in mp4 format.

Problem can be the quality, since you talk about a responsive project. Resizing is never a guarantee for good quality. Maybe have a different output resolution for the video, for different breakpoint views.

Thanks Lilybiri for your response. I am novice to captivate 9. From your response, i understand it is possible but at the cost of quality. Wish adobe team is able to to share some samples in this regard.

You have a sample file, responsive project, installed with Captivate.Look in Public folders, Adobe, eLearning Assets. The Cloudair sample is responsive, as is the Picture Perfect file.

Quality is also an issue if you make a normal project that you allow to rescale since CP is mainly based on bitmap images. Responsive projects take a more time to develop. Embedded videos (event video) can be rescaled but they keep of course their width/height ratio. Rod is talking more about multisynchronized video. But I agree that if you have focus on video, do not use responsive projects.
