Question

What can I do make aggregator load smoothly?

My aggregator exe project consists of 16 swf files, of roughly 4MB each. I works fine except when loading. As each swf module is added to the TOC, it displays the first slide of each swf until having loaded all 16. I then click the > arrow to begin the program. This give a very amateurish look to whole project. I have experimented with the default preloader from the Gallery folder but the same problem occurs. Any suggests on what I might try to fix this.

Thanks, Bert

    Hi Bert

Is the load process consistent? I ask because you mentioned that it seems to load the first slide of each component. My thought here is that perhaps you could create something entertaining or a countdown by manipulating the first slide of each component SWF. For example, if your proejct has 16 SWFs, you might configure the first SWF to load so it presents a large 16. The second would be 15 and so on, providing a countdown until the entire project launches.

    Cheers... Rick

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, the load process is not consistent. It will start with the first module, then go to another module, then back to the first (probably because this module involves a large audio component) and then load the remaining modules. Is there a solution involving starting with a swf file whose only function is to appear on the screen while the project load in its entirety? My experiments using the default preloader has not worked, perhaps because I have to specified the essential properties to make this work.
