What has changed between CP8 and CP9 regarding the created scorm-files

Hi,

is there a documentation what has changed between captivate 8 and captivate 9 regarding the published scorm-files? Is there a way to publish a scorm-file with CP9 that is identical with a CP8 scorm-file?

That's exactly the problem. I use the exact same publishing options and the published scorm files are different.

We're running stuff we converted from 8 on Adobe Connect platforms used as a pseudo LMS and on Blackboard with no issues, so I'm curious as to what you're seeing. Can you explain how they seem to different? I'm not sure what the differences are or how it impacts performance on your LMS. Arer able to share details?

You may be running into an issue where certain image elements in your Cp8 project no longer seem to work when you upgrade it to Cp9 and then deploy on your LMS.  This would likely be due to the fact that Cp9's latest versions now use single JSON files to deliver the GIF or PNG graphics instead of serving them as dozens or hundreds of individual files.  This speeds up the download and playback times for the content, but it also requires that your LMS administrator must enable the JSON mimetype on your LMS web server.

So you might want to check with the LMS admin to see if this has been done.

Not sure there's much difference, unless you're publishing a responsive design project. The selections in the dropdown for the SCORM section of the publishing process are exactly the same as in 8. As long as you select the same settings as you had when you first published in 8, a converted file with the same content and interactions should publish the the same way using those settings in 9.

I have the following problem: When I update a CP8 course on our plattform with a CP9 scorm file, all users that started the course with the old file, can't continue the course and only see the loading screen. If I change a CP8 scorm file with another CP8 scorm file the problem doesn't occur. It is also possible to switch between to CP9 scorm files. The problem only occurs when I change from a CP8 to a CP9 scorm file or the other way round.

I think that some parameters have changed between CP8 and CP9, but I can't find any documentation about the changes.

I would be happy if someone has an idea what I can do to fix the problem.
