What type of processor should I get in new computer?

While shopping for a new computer, a salesman told me that a computer with an i5 processor would be too slow to work with Captivate and that I would need an i7.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks.

There is a lot more factors than just the processor. Personally I prefer i7 over i5, but some users even have i3. Captivate is memory hungry, RAM is important as well. It is also heavy on graphics, if possible get a dedicated graphics card (NVidia works nice with other Adobe applications). If your budget supports it please have a SSD at least for the applications, it starts up so quickly. Last question: are you used to have open several applications at the same time? I always have Photoshop and Audition (sometimes also Illustrator) open together with Captivate

    Hi all

I certainly agree with Lilybiri on the processor and I'll also add another tidbit WRT the I7 processor. Not all I7 processors are quad core.
