When I preview after publishing in CpC it works fine but if I go to the index.html file won't play

Hi Guys

When I open project via index.html file I get a long loading message, and then voice-tags play on white blank screen.  Then for the next screen I get another 'loading' message.

This has only just started happening with this project and I'm at my wits end.

Can anyone offer any help to a non-technical person like me?

    Correct answer Lilybiri

    Thanks Lilybiri.

Noted, and you are correct... it's created for non-LMS deployment, housed on our website and pointing to it via Arlo.  I can't find a decent and cost effective LMS so using this solution instead of deploying to an LMS.  at least until I can actually source a decent one that suits our needs.  Again, thank you for your time and comment, as always, wise words.

You're welcome and I am happy that you didn't feel insulted, because that happens so much. I am just concerned that correct information is shown to users looking for a similar problem solution.

Indeed, finding a good LMS is not easy, fully understand. I upload output of my examples to my domain as well.

I found the problem, and the solution.  The new slide was set to 'optimesud', whilst all other were set to '28-bit' (I think), and this somehow created a massive conflict with playback... please be aware.  I copied all slides into a new project, then rewrote the whole project... all with no success.  Then I noticed the problem and solution.  The new changes took me only seconds... it was both elation and heartbreak all at once.  Again, please be aware... and take care...!!!

Just want to warn you that although this solution worked for you, it mainly depends on the exact functionalities you are using whether the local viewing works or not. Your project probably is not using those functionalities which need uploading to a webserver or a LMS. I write this comment to warn other users that your 'solution' is not foolproof for every situation.

A published (to HTML5) output from any Captivate version is like a website. You need to upload the published folder to a website or a LMS (if you activated Reporting). In many cases trying to launch locally (using localhost) by clicking the index.html file will lead to problems like you experienced. The webserver needs to support JSON protocol.
