Which version of Flash? It works OK for me, but I'm on Flash Professional CC 2015. Agree with Rod, don't bother to create Flash widgets unless you are sure only to publish for SWF.

Actually, I'm saying don't bother creating Flash SWF widgets AT ALL now.  Adobe's announcement has effectively killed any long-term future for SWF-based e-learning.   Let's face it, the writing has been on the wall for Flash SWF for some years now.  I think it's time we all started wearing black armbands.

I believe all Captivate developers working on projects that will have more than a 2 year lifespan should be seriously re-thinking any decision to go with SWF output and instead opt for design decisions that work ONLY in HTML5.

I would have to interpret Adobe's move to mean that a version of Captivate sometime in the near future will NOT be publishing to SWF.

There are virtually no mobile browsers supports Flash output, and some desktop browsers are also now dropping it.  At some point soon I would expect the browser vendors (Chrome, IE, Mozilla, et al) to support Adobe's announcement and do something similar.

SWF is/was undeniably a great technology and will still have a role in gaming etc.  But for e-learning...not so much now.

Even Adobe is telling developers not to use Flash now.
