So the issue is, these symbols display on IE8, IE11, and Firefox; however, they are not there on Chrome or on the MAC where the project is created. They show up on the same slides each time the project is published; however, it is a small potion of slides displaying these strange symbols (7 out of 182) and (2 out of 56). Tried re-doing the Closed Captioning and republishing the projects. Any ideas how to fix this? The customer does not have Chrome, so I must make these symbols go away. Sample of symbols:

Went back to the affected slides and re-typed the closed captioning. Symbols are gone. I guess modifying CP6 with CP8 is the issue; however, two of the slides that had symbols had no modifications made.

I suspect as well that the upgrade caused these problems.

Could you post a screenshot of the published slide, please? One of the symbols looks like a manual line break in the text (Shift-Enter).

Here are screens of some of the symbols.

Oops, forgot to ask about the version you are using. Firefox was not supported with Captivate 8.

How did you create the text: was this typed in Captivate or copy/paste from another application. In the last scenario: from which application?
