    There is no CP9 certification, but there is a CP8 certification. For what it is worth,  because such a certificate doesn't prove that you know Captivate, only that you can learn the Help by heart. Just my personal opinion,

    You may find there is a bit of a wait for Adobe to update the testing, publish materials, verify instructors and disseminate this information.

    In the mean time, you're welcome to hang out here. You might event want to fill out your profile and take some time to share what you know. Build up some points, share some advice, who knows!

    You may find that there are a few of us who would be willing references for your skills, rather than having a certification of your ability to take a test.

    Thats great. Thanks for the information.

    My Linkedin profile has all my work history and a sample of work I have done so I'll stick with that for now

    Hi elearningbuilder,

    The short answer to how do you prove skills/techniques is to show them your work and let them play with it. I've also recently seen folks who record/capture their work and speed it up as they toggle through it. Done well, its a pretty effective way to showcase your work in under a minute.

    Cheers

    Great ideas all and I agree that certification doesn't prove knowledge or technique etc. But, the challenge remains;

    How do you PROVE mastery on a resume or on paper ? Certification solves this (as does work experience , etc).

    Thanks,

    WRT: Certification solves this (as does work experience , etc).

    I disagree. I totally agree with Lilybiri here. Sure, it sounds nice to claim that you are "certified". But all that really does is sort of set you apart from someone that isn't. It's an easy way to tick off a check mark that you may be a better candidate because you knew how to answer the certification questions in the way they were expected.

    Even "job experience" could be suspect. Sure, you may have worked with Captivate for two years on your last job. But all that says is that you have had exposure. And again, that might give you a bit of an edge but even with a candidate that is certified as well as having experience, it's still a gamble as to whether said candidate will actually be effective once hired.

    So I look at these things with a healthy dose of skepticism. They are just tools that are used to create barriers that "keep out" applicants that haven't satisfied that "rite of passage" so to speak.

    Just my own two cents worth... Rick

    Totally agree. Certification might initially, get you the job, but it doesn't mean you can actually do the job!

    Strive for mastery-not certification. Mastery takes time and interest (a lot of both),  certification just takes memory and money.  Just my personal opinion as well !
