    Hi there

That's because it doesn't exist. You simply click Insert > Widget now.

I want to add some more clarification, because it looks like you jumped several versions, right?

Widgets, with their three types, are normally only compatible with SWF-output. Since three versions, a new type of widgets appeared, labeled 'Learning Interactions' which are really also widgets that 'should' be compatible with both SWF and HTML output. I did put 'should' to emphasize that they don't all work seamlessly with responsive projects. To make the confusion complete, not only the name changed but they are stored in different locations. Some of the widgets you knew have simply disappeared, and/or are replaced by similar learning interactions that almost are working the same way but not always.

Widgets (with the three categories which are now not that visible anymore, like in the panel: static, interactive and question) are only stored in the Gallery under the installation folder of Captivate, in a subfolder Widgets like it was always the case in previous versions as well. If you use Insert, Widget, you have to check that you are in that folder. It often happens that the default folder is not that Gallery\Widgets subfolder but another folder in Public documents (for Win installation), the folder with the.... Learning Interactions. Those interactions are originally also stored in a subfolder of the Gallery, but you'll use them from the Public documents. You are supposed not to use Insert,Widget for them, but the Big Button 'Interactions', last option 'Learning Interactions'. More details in my blog post, that has also a link to a table: Tips - Learning Interactions - Captivate blog  Like with widgets, you'll find static and interactive Learning interactions, but too bad, it is only apparent when you insert them. If you use that Big Button, you'll not see the folder, but a dialog box with thumbnails of the interactions. The content is from the Public documents, in which also backups of previous versions are stored, it is never from the original Gallery subfolder.

    Thanks Lieve!

I'm studing the official Adobe Help file for Captivate 9, but it is completely outdated! In page 263 we see a chapter about the Widget Panel, but it doesn't exist anymore! All Help file for Captivate 9 is outdated!

Congratulations for your wonderfull blog! I'll be reading all the posts on a regular basis.

Indeed, too bad, but the Help is all but useless at this moment with the exception of the pages about new features. It has been like that since some versions.
