Why do I have to connect to the internet everytime when using Captivate 9?

If you turn off your internet, Captivate 9 will still open up and run, but the updater and the connection to the community that Lily mentioned won't run. So, you can run it without being connected to the internet, but it is going to default to connecting for the reasons Lily stated.
