Why do my characters fade in on each new slide?

Can anyone help me learn how to stop my characters from fading in on every new slide?  I've tested it with shapes and it does not do this.  I looked, and no effects are on the character so I know that's not the problem.  Any help would be AMAZING!! Thanks!

    Transition for objects is in the Timing Properties panel for that object.

    Did you look at the Transition setting? Which version do  you use?

    I'm using Captivate 8.  Is there a transition setting specific to objects/media?  Where is it located?  I don't think it's the slide transition setting because other objects/texts do not do this annoying fade-in/fade-out. Hmmmm..... Thank you so much for helping.
