Why do text entry fields retain previous text entries on published projects?

I have Retain Text unchecked but published project retains and displays a list of all my previous text entry attempts.

This is confusing in simulations because learner won't understand why they see this where list shows all my previous attempts.

How do I clear this so my learners don't see list of previous attempts?
