Why do Widgets dissapear on Timeline?

I am using Adobe Captivate 8. After I go to Interactions/Learning Interactions and choose a Widget everything is fine. The Widget shows up on the stage. However, I have a question. Why does the Widget disappear once I play the first frame timeline within Captivate but shows up when I select Preview?

Thanks

That is what I tried to explain: you don't Play the Slide (or use the Play button on the Timeline) to see how the published file will look, only to time objects on the timeline like synchronizing voice over audio with appearance of objects. If you want to see how the project will really show up when you have published it, you have to use a real Preview technique. The best review technique, closest to the published version is Preview in Browser or Preview HTML in Browser.

That 'white blank box' is just a placeholder to show you where the widget is, the widget itself is not 'playing' with Play Slide.

Not sure because of terminology, but I suspect (Captivate intuition )  you are talking about 'Play Slide' vs. Preview. Play slide, whether you use that option from the Preview button or by using the control panel in the Timeline is NOT a preview at all, only meant for synchronizing, editing reasons. That means that not everything will play as it will be after publishing. To see the learning interactions behave properly use Preview in Browser or Preview HTML in Browser.

I'm not sure I understand.

I am using a Widget. When I play the timeline within Adobe Captivate 8 the Widget turns into a white blank box. However, the Widget is seen when I preview it Preview panel. Perhaps that's the way it's supposed to be.

Can you show us a screenshot of the Timeline with the widget's layer visible?

I'm sorry. It's against company policy to post screen shots.
