Why does the user have to click the next button twice to continue on question slides?

I've seen someone else have this question in the forum but there was no solution associated with the discussion. Has anyone else had issues with this and/or know how to fix it?

I looked over your post and am not seeing the answer to my question. Additionally, what is up with the user having to click the screen to continue (or press Y). That seems so silly and simply just not intuitive. I'm very frustrated with Captivate question slides and how poorly they work. I have a 90 minute course with many knowledge checks and it seems as if they all work differently. Some have retry shapes, some won't allow me to add them... some go to the next slide with 1 click of the next button, some won't budge until the user clicks twice. Is there any solution to this besides creating my own question slides?

I'm sorry if that post doesn't help you, it seems to have helped a lot of users and is the product of a lot of exploring question slides in all their aspects.

You may find it silly, but the first step in the submit process is to allow the user to take time to read the feedback messages. When he is ready to go on he clicks on the slide or presses Y. You can tweak all that, but there is logic in the question slide setup. If you mess up with its design, if you start deleting embedded objects, you'll end up with issues like you describe just now. Question slides work perfectly if you understand how they are designed and how you can tweak them. That article had some tweaking use cases described.

To have full control over question slides, you'll have to create custom question slides.

For knowledge check slides, you should upgrade to Captivate 9.
