Why does the X box increase with the size of the text entry box?

I am using Captivate 8.

I noticed the larger I make the Text Entry Box the larger the X box becomes. Is there a way to keep it the size it normally shows up in smaller Text Entry boxes?

I'm not aware of a way to change this, however, if you check off the Scrollbar option it won't appear.

Thanks for the response. The scrollbar was already checked off. Looks like I'm stuck with this.
