why doesn't inserted cpvc play?

For some reason the inserted cpvc file does not play inside the cptx file. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why?

    The reason why I was only seeing a screen shot of a video along with the audio, is, I accidentally had a hidden timeline layer selected as Rest Of Project. As a result, every new slide would show the image on the preceding slide that had the Rest of Slide image.

    This is very frustrating. Turns out whenever I insert a cpvc into the cptx on this file it does now play. However, it does play when I insert the cpvc into another cptx. So the issue must be my cptx.

    More of a problem.

    Even though I am inserting three different cpvc files it is showing the same files but playing the different audios from each cpvc.

    I have cleared the cache but the same thing is happening.

    I will clear the cache and reboot my computer to see if it helps.
