Question

Why is Captivate 9 freezing when I open a previous project?

I have multiple Captivate 9 projects on my computer. All made within the last few months. When I try to open a project, any of them, it seems to open immediately and then in a few seconds the mouse turns into the load icon and I can't navigate anymore. It seems to freeze on the slide it opens on. Why is this happening? Can someone please help?

Which exact version of Captivate 9 are you using? The latest one is 9.0.2.437.

Do you clear the Cache regularly? If you are on Windows do you run Captivate as administrator? Is Captivate installed on your system, it doesn't like a networked drive for installation or for the paths for Project/Cache (check Preferences, General settings for those paths). If this is all OK, try to clean the Preferences. In the subfolder 'utils' of the installation folder you find the CleanPreferences files to run.

Same problem here. Happens with new projects and trying to load old projects (that worked just fine a week ago). No major system changes on my computer. Everything is up to date. Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash. Verified I'm loading from the heard drive and not the network. Cleared the cache.

It was working FINE last week. Now, I get the spinning wheel of death. Any thoughts?

Are you running Captivate as Administrator? Did you try to clean the Preferences? Look in the subfolder 'utils' under Captivate's installation folder, and run the file that is fitting for your OS. I hope you followed the release notes when installing the latest patch?
