Why is my slide not pausing

I have an advanced action set up for a slide.

As part of the action, I have slide 1 set up to pause so it does not skip to the next slide.  Navigation is based on user clicking on smart shapes.

When I preview the project it works properly, but when I publish and load into my LMS slide 1 plays initially and then jumps to the next slide.

As part of the navigation, when the 2nd slide completes it navigates back to the first slide, at that point the action works properly and the slide pauses.

Can somebody possibly help me out with this?

Can you show the action? Which event is triggering that 'action'? It is never a good idea to trigger a complicated advanced or shared action On Enter of the first slide of a project. Depending on many factors, it could be that it is not executed correctly because so much has to be loaded (depends on many factors). Keep the first slide very simple: title, no audio, no action On Enter.

Thank you both!

Yes, I had the action on the first slide.  I added a blank slide to the beginning and that seems to have fixed the problem.

I appreciate the help.

I never put navigation actions on the very first slide in a project.  Make the very first slide blank and about 1 second in length.  Start your navigation and actions on the SECOND slide slide of the project.  I've found that avoids a lot of issues of the type you describe here.
