Why is my timeline grayed out in state view?

I added video clips in state view and now my timeline is grayed out.  (See attached image.)  I tried creating another state view with a static image and the timeline in state view is grayed out for that, too.  Any ideas?

While you are working in the Object State panel, more is grayed out because it is not relevant at all. You cannot change the duration of an item in between states, why do you need the timeline? You can indeed insert video clips in states, but those will be event video, which is playing totally independent of Captivate (and its timeline). Maybe you have some misunderstanding about multistate objects? Can you please explain why you are missing the Timeline while working on states?
