Why is the F2 shortcut does not work to rename the current selected object? I have tried in My Captivate 9 English version and French version?

I am currently testing all the Keyboard shortcut in my Captivate 9 French version the F2 Key function does not seem to work.

I am experiencing the same problem in my Captivate 9 English version. What am I doing wrong?

    F2 is functional to switch to edit mode for a text container (caption or shape) on the stage. The alternative is double-clicking on the text container.  Each text container can have two 'states': when it is selected you can resize the container and (for shapes) change the stroke/fill. When you go into edit mode (F2 or double-click) you can write/edit text and use most shortcut keys that you have also in text editors.

    F2 doesn't (need to) work on fields in the UI, since you have either to tab to it or to click on the field and you are immediately in edit mode. Maybe you could explain what you mean by using F2 for changing names/labels. AFAIK that is the top most field in the Properties panel.

    The help file was not clear in English or in French for me. It says 'Rename selected object' or 'Renommer l'object sélectionné'.  Now I get it your explanation is much better than the wording, I taught it meant, rename the object name NOT the Caption wording in the text container.

    You're welcome, and I'll repeat what the team doesn't like: don't trust the Help documentation (not complete, outdated),  post questions in the forums. Especially the translations always make me smile, it happens that I see screenshots in French or German here (I understand both languages).
