Why is the YouTube widget not working?

I am experiencing difficulty working with the YouTube widget. All worked well with it two days ago (8/18), but as of yesterday it quit working. All of my coworkers are experiencing the same thing. The test button no longer works. When pressed all we get is a black screen with the YouTube logo on the bottom right side. When I press F11 to preview everything works fine, but when published we get the black screen with the logo in the bottom right corner. This happens regardless of running the published  file locally, a remote server or Adobe Connect. I am running version 9.02.421 and my coworkers are using this version or the previous version (9.01.xxx).

What is different from F11 preview vs. a published file?adobe. 

Please help I need a solution for this ASAP as video is the main format that I work with and have a time sensitive project that needs to be posted.

    I can confirm that the test button now doesn't work correctly as the URL changes to "youtube.googleapis.com/v/". I still have Captivate 9.0.1.320 installed on one machine and the same thing is occurring in that YouTube widget as it is in my 9.0.2.421 install.

    A few questions for you.

    Are you publishing to HTML5 or SWF?

    Can you confirm that the widget is the most recent version? You can do this by clicking on the blue icon in the properties panel when you have the widget selected on the slide.

    The version should be 17. If it's not you'll need to delete the widget from your slide and insert it again from the Learning Interactions.

    Additionally, can you confirm that the YouTube URL is using the correct structure? It should be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= and not the shortened https://youtu.be/ structure.

    The difference between the F11 and F12 previews is that F11 previews using HTML5 and F12 previews using Flash. The final Publish should be the same as the F11 preview, if you're publishing to HTML5, but you would need to be running a local web server or post the published file to a server in order to make sure that everything functions the same. There are a few things that occur in the published output that require a web server in order to display properly.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! Adobe Flash was the issue, it works in HTML5.  I am using version 17 and yes that is exactly what I am getting with the test button. Michael, thank you again for your help!

    Hi Keith,

    We have fixed the issue with You Tube widget in SWF output. Kindly follow the below steps:

    Download the updated You Tube widget from the below link:

    https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/eddcc292-2baf-4f2c-a6f7-e01554e4ca42

    Save it to your Desktop.

    Launch Captivate.

    Go to Insert>Widget.

    Navigate to the downloaded You Tube widget and Insert it.

    It should work fine now. Let me know in case you face any issues.
