Why is there no pause video demo recording in Adobe Captivate 2017?

Pausing video during the recording of a video demo is pretty important and used to be available in earlier versions of captivate. In the default settings below, you'll see there is no pause key. Any ideas?

There is no Pause key, Video Demo NEVER had a Pause key, since it appeared with version 6. Software dimulations can be paused.

but I use this work flow to be able to record a Video Demo in logical chunks:

  • Record the first clip, end it normally but keep the application that is recorded in its present state.
  • Watch the first clip, and open the editor
  • Put the playhead at the end of the first clip.
  • Use Insert, Video Recording  to start capturig the second clip

Thanks for the reply, most helpful. I just tried that out and it makes sense.
Being relatively new to Captivate I am finding my way and get tripped up by these kind of things. Like when recording a software simulation the video slides are not editable.
Anyway, thanks for your help!

What do you mean by your last sentence "when recording a software simulation the video slides are not editable. "?
