Question

Why when you have an active Captivate subscription do you have to fill in a trial form in order to download it?

I had to work from home today, and despite staying late at work last night, when I checked my SCORM package this morning, I realised I'd missed a tick box.

No biggie, I thought, I can sign in with my subscription via Creative Cloud*, click the install link, and fix this up in a moment or two.

It took me a while to work out that there is no way of getting the installation files without filling in a form for the "free trial". And even after signing in to my account, it still insisted on my filling it in, including specifying when I might be making a decision (surprisingly, 6 months ago wasn't on the list).

How come the link from my subscription page, right under the subscription itself takes me to the download free trial page? It just makes no sense!

And by the time I'd finally downloaded and installed it, that one tick box fix had taken me an hour.

*And given that your twitter representative seems to think that I was confused about Captivate not being in CC, I'm not. I have both - and in order to get my subscription to Captivate I had to create a CC account, even though at the time I wasn't getting any of the CC apps - although I now have those as well.

    Kia ora Himanshu,

As per my original post "And by the time I'd finally downloaded and installed it, that one tick box fix had taken me an hour." So yes, I was able to install it.  Best help you can offer right now is that you'll pass this feedback on to the website UX team. As a user, I expect that If I have an active subscription, I shouldn't need to fill in a form with contact details that are already available (I was already logged into my account, both in the browser, and in CreativeCloud which is, in my understanding, how Captivate verifies you have an active account) in order to download the application. I spent ages thinking I was just missing the correct link.

    Ngā mihi,

    Elisabeth
