Why won't linking to other captivate slides within the same project work?

I have created a Captivate 7 project which needs internal hyperlinking, (ie. the ability to move to particular slides when clicking a hyperlink or hyperlinked object) but the links don't work when I preview them using the preview next 5 slides function. I have tried everything. I even published a test project with various hyperlinks to see if it was just the previewer and they didn't work in the final, published piece (although this was a zipped file, not sure if this is interactive.)

I need a linked doc and am desperate at this point. Any thoughts?

    Hello and welcome,

    The preview method you used will not work, unless the slides you linked to are within those 5 slides. Try Preview Project, or even better Preview in Browser. Unless of course Quiz settings are spoiling the navigation (see Rod's answer).

    For the published version, Rod provided you with the necessary indications, I just wanted to pop in about Preview.

    Publish completely to a folder on your hard drive. 

    Make sure that folder is set up as a trusted location in your Flash Global Security settings:

    If the linking still does not work, check quiz settings in your project to see if you have backard movement allowed and set Quiz > Settings > Required drop down to Optional.  Sometimes internal jump links don't work because navigation options are limited by these settings.

    Thanks so much for these details. I am trying them now! I am a beginner and couldn't figure out how to access Flash settings manager!

    It worked, when I previewed the whole project. Thanks so much Lilybiri and Rod!!

    Can I change the quiz settings back to making the quiz mandatory just before publishing, or will this interrupt the jump slide function when it's published?
