Widget question

I have three widgets in my presentation.  The first one is a tab widget, theme 8, with the tabs to the side.  It shows for 14 secs, then folds back on itself and leaves a blank screen. You can still hear the audio going.  How to I prevent the widget from disappearing?  Is it  because of the type of widget it is? The other widgets work fine!  When in the LMS, it sometimes doesn't show at all, instead there is a blank screen that says DIY Learning Element.
