Will TOC width increase reduce rest of slide?

By in increasing the width of the TOC in Captivate 8, will that automatically reduce the width of the rest of the slide?

This design is not a Responsive Project.

TOC can be used in Overlay or Separate. I suspect you point at the second option? No, it will add to the real estate needed to display your project, but the slide size (resolution) will be kept as designed. If you use TOC in overlay, it will cover up more of your slide when expanded.

but in my project, the option separate is not selectable : the button is gray ...

why ?

And how can I make this button operative ?

You are creating a responsive project probably, for responsive projects where (certainly for mobile) real estate is limited, the option Separate is not available for TOC.
