I am due to have a new PC with Windows 7 64bit and Office 2010 64bit.

I am running Captivate v5.5.

Does anyone know if I am going to run into any problems with the above PC spec when working with Captivate v5.5?

Thanks in advance,

Noel

Hmm, Noel, you didn't get any answer, thought the staff would pop in.

I have still 5.5 on my laptop and desktop without any problems. Both are Win7 64 bit. But I use Office 2010 32bit because there were quite a lot of issues with the 64-bit version (at least in the beginning). Since I don't use Office that much, not a problem. That has nothing to do with running Captivate of course. But 5.5 is only available as 32-bit version AFAIK. You'll have to test yourself the export/import to Word from CP, are you using that a lot?

This answer is only based on my personal experience. Have a lot more RAM then you'll have, necessary for all the multitasking I'm doing.

    Hi Lilybiri,

Thank you for stepping in and helping me.

I will pass on your comments to my IT people and see what they make of it before I get the new PC.

I use the "Publish" to Word a lot - not the export/import to Word - or are they the same?

Is the current version of Caprivate (v7) 64bit?

Yes, both 6 and 7 come also in 64-bit. I don't think that you'll have problems publishing to Word (but it may be still to DOC in 5.5), it is just the export/import captions that is sometimes not behaving well.
