Windows 7 and Captivate 5 (e-learning suite 2.0)

Hi all.

We are looking at upgrading our machines at work from XP to Windows 7 64bit.

However I've heard rumours that you need to be Admin to run (not install) the programs?

Is this the case as it's going to cause all sorts of issues as my workplace will not allow as Admin rights whatsoever.

Anyone able to advise?

Regards

    Hello,

You have to run 'As Administrator', that doesn't mean that you need all administrator's rights AFAIK,

    Thanks both!

I've sent the link to this thread to my personal IT Guru! (Cheers Ross!)

Hopefully we can get this confirmed or denied at some point?

    Cheers

Yes you need to run Captivate 5 as an Administrator for it to work properly on either Win7 32 or 64bit systems.

However, I'm pretty sure that it is possible in Windows 7 for clever IT dudes to configure User Account Control so that you can run a particular program (i.e. Captivate) as an Administrator, even though to you don't have admin rights for the entire operating system.

Is there someone more knowledgeable about UAC that can confirm this?
