Working with Question Pool - Captivate v4. Help, tips or advice...

Captivate v4

I have 12 short projects and need to create a question pool for each project.

From the little time I have spent so far working out how to work with Question Pool - it seems like it is going to take a long time to create a pool of 15 questions for each of the 12 project in regards to "layout" of the slide...font size and colour, header / question location on slide etc etc.

Does anyone have any tips or experience they could pass on in regards better / efficient ways to create a question pool in v4 ?

Hello Noel,

Still on CP4? Master slides, objects styles and templates would be great for this goal in CP5/5.5. Some ideas:

  • create a project template for your question pools with the correct layout etc...
  • eventually use a design template to apply to existing pools
  • totally different but useful if you have a lot of similar questions in the pool: create one pool, format it to your wishes, rename the pool to have a base for the next one, export the text captions, change them to have questions for the second pool and reimport the captions, you'll have a second pool; you can repeat this work flow as many times as you wish; of course only very smooth if you have same number of similar question types

Hi Lilybiri...yes still on v4. Reason being is I am in the middle of a large global project and cannt afford the sudden change from v4 to v5.5 in the middle of this work.

Once I have finished this project I plan to upgrade to v5.5 and then I will have some time to get used to the new look and feel of v5.5.

Thanks for your suggestions for the question pool. I am doing something along the lines you suggest..thanks.
