Armand,
You can create a menu to navigate to slides with these options:

1) Captivate Menu (Project > Skin > Menu.)
2) Creating your own menu by inserting buttons. (Insert > Button). Configure each button to navigate to a slide number. You'll have to copy/paste these buttons on every slide where you want the menu to appear (buttons cannot be set to "display for entire movie"). See Section Template for an example.. Or, on each slide of your movie, have 1 button that goes to the "Menu" - say on slide #1. On Slide #1, you can have all of your buttons that navigate to the various slides. This is easier because you only have edit the menu buttons on one slide of your movies.
3) Use a third-party add-in product - the Menu Wizard..
4) Create a HTML frameset, put the menu hyperlinks in one of the HTML pages, and use JavaScript to have the menu communicate with the Flash movie and navigate to the appropriate slide.

I would like to add buttons to the left side of my demo to serve as a table of contents. I need to resize the project in order to create space to do that but don't know how to make sure that the demo is shifted to the right so that I can add the buttons without obstructing my demo. Does anyone know how to do that?

Welcome to our community, SPScreate

After you click Project > Resize Project and make it wider, look in the section on the lower left. Choose the option "Keep project the same size and fill background with color". When you choose that, you are offered a drop-down for choosing where to place the existing part of the project. Click the drop-down and select one of the right options.

Thanks, it's great. the resize works.

A last question .

To make the menu in the blank area (a menu on which the users can click), there is a better way to do it. Actually I use the button. But i't not really beautiful

thanks alot,

for the 2nd question : Project > Skin... > Menu tab.
- It seems that I can not have submenu like
Menu
course 1
chap1
- It also appears at the top of the window as a bullet. Is it possible to show all the menu in one blank slide (like in a pdf document) or in the capture slide, but not only as a bullet on which you can click

It'll be better fo me if i can have for exemple on each my slides one part of the slide reserved for the menu (for example the left hand side ) and the other side the capture of my demonstration

I don't know if it's possible but any suggestion will be welcome

thanks

Hi again

LOL, I never said the built in Menu function was without issues.

One approach you may wish to take would be to click Project > Resize and simply make the project wider. Of course, you would want to ensure the existing part of the project would be moved to the right so as to create a blank area at the left side. You could then construct your own navigation using that blank area.

Hi Armand

1 - How can i write a simple text on a Adobe captivate slide

Try clicking Insert > Text Caption.

2 - I'm also trying to make a table of contents. Is it possible to make it, so that when the user click on the text it jump to the appropriate slide. Like a table of contents in a pdf file

Try clicking Project > Skin... > Menu tab.
