XML export in Trados - tags

Hi all, 

When translating the XML export in SDL Trados, there are many formatting tags that make the text difficult to translate. Can anyone advise how these can be excluded when exporting the XML from Captivate?

    I've always used the Microsoft Word Document version of this. It too has some issues but most translation services can manage these files with greater ease than the the XML files.
