You Tube Widget will not display in Cp7 HTML Output

OK, I have read all I can on the topic, have tried many setting options, both for the widget and the publishing,  Can someone help me understand the particulars on getting YouTube videos to be active in output, or at least visible?  I have tried:

  • Constraining proportions
  • Made visible in output
  • Synchronized and not synchronized with project
  • Scalable HTML in publishing
  • Test in youtube widget visible but not on playback in window
  • Widget displayed in rest of slide
  • Widget brought to front
  • Have tried creating new project, inserting widget and publishing - still not visible when published
  • Tried zipped and unzipped publishing
  • cannot enter any data in video management window
  • tried publishing in SWF & HTML - not visible in either with the options I chose.
  • Video is visible in preview in HTML5 output in web browser
  • Tried opening in Safari and google chrome as firefox gave an error message
  • JAVA script all enabled

I'm sorry but I am new to Captivate and have spent weeks creating an amazing project but would prefer not to delete the video clips I entered.  I m using MAC OSX 10.8.5.  I do not know about coding but will do my best...anyone that can offer any help would be greatly appreciated!

Having the same problem.  In preview it works fine but after publishing it does not display the Youtube widget.

Many question marks for the past year.

You're not trying to test this from your local hard drive or network drive are you?

Please remember to upload your HTML5 content to a web server before testing.  Lots of things will ONLY work from a web server.

I've had this exact same problem and it's really frustrating me! For some reason, I can view the youtube interactions with HTML Output in web browser (which is just previewing it), but as soon as I publish it and try to view the youtube interactions it doesn't work. I know that the web browsers that work with Captivate 7 are Safair, Chrome, firefox, and older versions of Internet Explorer. There's some type of missing element when publishing that makes it so they don't display correctly. But it works just fine when I preview it.

Hi,

Could you please check in an alternate browser? Like Firefox.

Also, in the published output please try running both index.html and multiscreen.html files one after the other.

Does the project_name.htm / project_name.swf work fine?

Thanks Alie, but no.  Firefox, Safari nor Chrome are successful launching any of these files - index, multiscreen or the project file in either form.  I also checked the Flash Security Settings as suggested in another post somewhere - no luck.  Each is missing some components - but all missing the embedded videos from the YouTube widgets.  Thanks for trying to help!

I've encountered this too. Had to resort to linking to YouTube rather than embedding via the interaction.

The slide that had the YouTube interaction on it simply would not load in IE9, Safari, Chrome or  Firefox (although I wouldn't expect this with it not being a supported browser).
