YouTube embedds not working/ Widget or YouTube changes?

My Youtube videos are no longer playing using the Adobe Captivate widget.  It's adding "Googleapis.com"  after the http// and before the rest of the URL.

I tested some videos today and all appears to be working normal again with and without the YouTube playbar. Has anyone else tested their videos with the widget?

Updating to Captivate 9 and using "Web Object" to upload the YouTube videos works!

You have to play with sizing, but it is a solution to have the videos work.

    Hi Michael,

We have fixed the issue with You Tube widget in SWF output. Kindly follow the below steps:

Download the updated You Tube widget from the below link:

    https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/eddcc292-2baf-4f2c-a6f7-e01554e4ca42

    Save it to your Desktop.

    Launch Captivate.

    Go to Insert>Widget.

Navigate to the downloaded You Tube widget and Insert it.

It should work fine now. Let me know in case you face any issues.

    Regards,

    Mayank

    Hi Mayank,

The link is not longer active. Is this fix implemented in the latest update?

    Thanks, Anita

    Anita,

I'm not sure which link it is that you are talking about. I've not seen a fix for this problem, but I've used the suggested work around with using "web object" to upload the YouTubes.

I tested some videos today in published courses deployed from an LMS. I noticed that the YouTube widget worked, however, the dimensions were off and not aligned on screen in all courses expect for one. The only course that played fine with a YouTube widget is one using HD 1080 quality. Will the published courses that are non-HD quality have to be recreated in Captivate with new or existing YouTube video URL's or will all current courses with this issue work fine once Adobe resolves this issue with the YouTube widget?

*Update, I notice when I select to remove the play bar in the YouTube widget options the video does not overlap, however, if I do not remove the play bar, the video overlaps. Any ideas?

Not sure which version of Adobe Captivate you are using but I just did a little test with 9.0.2 to see if I was able to get it to work.

Hi there, we have been experiencing the same issues since yesterday. Our projects have been published in v. 7.0.1237

I believe that was the last patch of Captivate 7. I can't say for sure but it's possible that the YouTube API has changed since that time. You could submit a feature request and see if that's something Adobe might patch.
