I am not able to get the youtube widget to play my videos.  Just a blank slide I am seeing.  Anyone had this issue?

Alright, I got the widget to show.  For some reason I added a new slide and then it showed.  I tested and noticed I can resize and it will still showed.  I was taking baby steps and toggling certain settings.  The one that seemed to make it diappear was toggling the timing to "duration of animation".  So, with that beign said, do you have a suggestion on how to pause my slide until the end of the video?  I could add a button, but would rather not if it isn't necessary.  Thanks TLCMEDIA for the coaching

The only way I know would be with a widget using the YouTube API in AS3. That way you can listen for the end of the video and continue to the next slide when it is complete. You would not use the YouTube Interaction. If you are publishing to HTML5 you may be able to use JavaScript to listen for the video end as there is also a JavaScript API for YouTube.

I have built quite a few ads for Charter Cable using the AS3 and JavaScript API's.

Yeah so I tried all the preview options.  I loaded the course to SCORM and still don't see anything at any point.  It is like the widget doesn't even exist on my slides.  Even when I look at advanced interactions it shows nothing.  (Window>Advanced Interaction).  This can show you all the buttons, scoreable objects, etc.  but no widgets showing!

It doesn't show up in mine either but it works. By chance do you have something on a master slide covering it?

Are you using the full YouTube URL?

Have you tried another YouTube video?

I am using the youtube URL that I copy and paste from the browser.  It does have the https prefix which I heard could affect it?  I have brought the item to the front and I will check the master slide.  Thanks for your prompt responses

So it is just not showing using captivate preview, but if I publish then you think the widget will work fine?  I will give it a shot.  Thanks

You have to preview in a browser.  You cannot use the standard preview.  This threw me at first, when I clicked Preview From this Slide.

Insert youtube widget and put it on a slide by itself, bring to front, check url, made my youtube video public, tried using a highlight box, previewed with F11/12, changed the timings, etc, etc etc!  I am wondering if anyone has had luck yet?  I am getting nothing.  Just a blank slide that plays nothing.   I am looking for stand alone widgets online to run the youtube videos, but I would rather just use the built in feature.

Try publishing CP to a server and see what happens, that fixes it for a lot of folk.
