Hi,I'm running a CF 11 multi-server setup on a Server 2012 R2 box with multiple websites that have their own IP addresses (multiple IP's).  Even though each site has it's own IP address, I see all CF 11 instances using the same IP address to connect to Microsoft SQL server.  Why is CF 11 behaving this way and is this configurable?Thank you,Billy

We've been seeing a pretty severe problem with CF 11 Updater 7 (and now 😎 where the active requests just spike out to our max and the server starts throwing timeouts and 503 errors.We run a ColdFusion 11 Enterprise server (currently patched with update 6), which handles about 30 requests per second on average.Periodically, the metrics graphs will just show a spike in active requests that jumps up to our max (100 threads).  This last for about 15-20 seconds and then recovers, but accompanying it are usually 10-20 timeout errors and who knows how many 503's.  And this ends up happening every 15 minutes or so.  It's like something is slowing down the processing of pages, or holding them up for long enough to queue out of control.We tried installing update 7 and it happened all day, so we rolled back out of it.  When update 8 was released, we installed that and encountered the same problem.  I'm guessing that it was actually in update 7 and the fact that up

Hi all,I started profiler in my SQL Server 2008 R2 and I see a lot of calls to sp_columns. This is a procedure that retrieve table informations. I guess that ColdFusion is calling this function when I execute cfquery. Is there any way to reduce this overload?Thanks!!!

Hello, all,TSIA.  I once wrote some CF code that would validate a UUID as long as it was in either CF (8-4-4-16) or Oracle (8-4-4-4-12) format.I have since lost that code, and I'm not quite wrapping my head around a simple regex that will validate both formats.REMatchNoCase("^[0-9a-z]{8}-([0-9a-z]{4}-){3}[0-9a-z]{12}$",form.str).. will match the Oracle format.  But I do remember there being a way to validate both formats without using a long regex and the pipe, typing out both formats.  Please help me with this.V/r,^_^

HelloI'm testing a CF11 server on a Centos 7 64-bit (up to date), Plesk 12.0.18 Update #86. The website works fine, however the issue it in the admin side. Once I login to the admin and click the button or navigate in the admin for more then a few minutes I get the error from the subject. Then the CF is down and the only way to "fix it" is to restart it.The CF11 is up to date with update 9 installed, then the connector was built from sources (ColdFusion 10 and 11 RHEL connector configuration) and loaded in to the webserver. This new forum software sucks but I digress.  I'm not sure where my first post of the following ended up but here it goes again. Sorry for the double post if you found it here or somewhere else...I have two CF11 installs, my desktop and a production server. I believe both have the same SOLR version but I'm not sure how to tell since I don't see any SOLR version info on the CF server info page. Indexing the exact same PDFs, my local copy includes the symbols © and ® within the result sets of a search whereas the production server includes the encoded © and ® equivalents. What am I missing? Why are the two result sets different?

Hi all,I've looked through the forum and can't seem to find another instance of this occurring, so I'm going ahead and starting a new thread.The issue we're having is that CF11 (Update 7) often won't restart correctly after a server restart. It seems to get stuck on the 'Starting license' stage and hangs, with no other error messages:"Information","localhost-startStop-1","09/17/14","03:15:31",,"Starting license..."This only happens when CF11 is run as a service. We can manually restart CF11, so as a workaround we've created a script that runs on startup to restart ColdFusion "manually" (i.e. outside of automatic service startup).The three machines that this is happening on are running Windows 2008 R2, with 8GB AM and a 2.1GHz quad core processor. We're running JRE 1.7.0_67.We only have these three machines running ColdFusion, so I'm not able to compare it against any other of our servers. My office is (finally) upgrading from CF8 to CF10, so naturally I wanted my development environment to match the server environment.  I've been trying to find a copy of CF10 Dev Edition all morning, but it's just not to be found.  CF9? Sure.  11 is everywhere, but no CF10.Then I read this: Adam Cameron's Dev Blog: ColdFusion 10: be prepared, Adobe is removing the downloadsWhat's the deal?  Someone on that thread mentioned a security problem with 10.  Is that true?  If so, I'd like to warn my people who are installing 10 as we speak.Thanks.

Hello all-I just completed a full documentation project on a program I've been working on for 2 years.  I am absolutely thrilled that is over!  (The documentation, not the coding!)Within the documentation (which is meant to be printed out) I included various passwords.  I know this should not be part of the final docs...but I'm wondering- What is the accepted method of documenting passwords?I have:  ColdFusion admin passwords, Windows Server passwords, Datasource Passwords, Application 'universal' passwords, etc.Where do you put these passwords?  How do I include them in the final printed documentation?  If we have a server meltdown, someone will NEED these passwords to get everything going.  I need to make them available, but I don't want to be stupid.  Suggestions?My system does not deal with sensitive information- except user passwords.  But, we need to keep things protected...just not at the HIPAA level.Also...if you haven't done a massi

I recently upgraded from CF9 to CF11 (development version) running on localhost and I am having the following issue. I have a CFC that saves some data, creates a few cfcharts and saves them to disk. I've installed two instances of ColdFusion on separate servers.  One using the "Development" environment install option (not to be confused with the "Developer edition"; these are licensed servers), and the other using the "Production" environment install option.I can't access the ColdFusion admin pages of either server from my laptop, but I can access the admin pages for each server from the servers themselves, respectively.How do I change the server configuration so I can access the CF Admin screen from my laptop?Thank you in advance for your help!

I'm migrating a site from CF8 to CF2016 and when I cfdump the cookie scope in my application.cfm file, I see the cfid and cftoken values passed from the browser, however when I move that cfdump to the template being called i.e. default.cfm, the cfid is there but the cftoken had disappeared completely. Anyone know why?

Disclaimer...  I didn't write this stuff!!!  I'm just trying to understand WHY somebody wrote this stuff!!!I'm going through one of the Application.cfc templates I'm supposed to be responsible for when I ran across something I just didn't get.  OK So I've ran across a bunch of stuff I don't get but that isn't the point...  Turns out EVERY time a visitor hits this internal application the system generates a whole new set of Application variables for them.  The first few lines of the Application.cfc file are shown here:<cfcomponent>  <cfset this.name = "rover_" & lCase(ListLast(cgi.auth_user,"\"))> This means every unique visitor will create an application called "rover_SomeNameGoesHere".  It also means the onApplicationStart method will be getting executed once for each unique visitor. Can anybody think of a "valid" reason for creating a new application scope for every unique visitor?  Because it's an internal app we never see more

Late to the party but re the style issue - CF11 wants the ".xml" file extension (up to CF10: style="myStyle", with CF11: style="myStyle.xml").My issues/needs/questions:1) How do I get x-axis labels at say 45 degress? "Horizontal" and "Vertical" work but horiz is too wide and vert is hard to read.2) How do I loop through data sets that do not have the same count, e.g.: <cfset ra=[[30,20,40],[50,10,90,40,70,30],[88,72,64,81]]>? What I want is in the same chart have 3 groups with 1st group of 3 bars from the 1st array, 2nd with 6 bars, 3rd with 4.  The best I've been able to get is 3 groups of 6 bars or 6 groups of 3 bars. CF fabricates the extra bars to make all groups 3X6 or 6X33) How do I loop through the above parent array with cfchartseries and get the first group generate from the first array (or query, struct, etc.), the 2nd group from the 2nd array, 3rd from 3rd array? Hello, all,I know.  The question in the title can be a bit confounding.  It is to me, too, and I wrote it!  I'm trying to dynamically add watermarking to images using imageDrawText().  A company name centered in the image.Now, if the only word(s) used are, say, a company name, then it's not a stretch to just play around with arguments until the text is centered on the image.But, what do you do if the text could change from image to image??  Suppose, for this hypothetical scenario, that after the company name the photographer's first and last name will be below the company name, and said names are of various lengths.  And to make things even MORE interesting, the images used are different sizes and a mix of landscape and portrait oriented images.I'm trying to create code that will dynamically center the text on every image in a directory.  Understandably, I'd have to get the width and height of the image, divide by two to get dead-center, then offset b

Hi,I have been recently asked to look into updating the web connectors on our server at work. First, some stats:Server RHEL 5ColdFusion 10 (64bit)Apache (not sure of the ver number)When I first did this install, I had to compile a custom connector to get it to work.  However, there has always been one issue. In the rare times where I have had to stop CF from the command lines, I can't get CF to come back up and reconnect to the webserver. However, after  a reboot everything works fine. My first question is: Can someone from Adobe give me a little bit of information as to what happens when you create a connector?
