We have ColdFusion10 (update 17) Standard Edition installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server. It has been installed and running fine for a couple years, but in the last few weeks we have had trouble starting the service. After reboot it wouldn't start automatically or through a .bat file that checks to make sure it's started every morning. It also would time out starting from the Server Manager console. We were able to start it from the command line using net start "COLDFUSION 10 APPLICATION SERVER", but now it will not work that way either. The logs do not appear to show anything unusual as far as I can tell. The only way we have been able to get it started is to run cfstart.bat in the cfusion\bin directory. The websites are available, but the actual service is not running (at least as far as windows monitoring is concerned). This error is showing up in the server event log when we try to start the service:One possibility that we have wondered about is that Microsoft .NET Framework updates c
I'm building a flex app and using a VO to manage the data so its persistent and loosely coupled from the UI. Ordinarily I could just pass a flex form value to a cfc argument via <mx:remoteObject><mx:method></mx:remoteObject> syntax for passing each form element in a function that calls the remote object and function located in the CFC. What I'm wanting to do is pass the entire VO into a coldfusion function for login and have CF return an array of values back to the VO to store the user's account information and populate the flex dashboard from the VO. How do I properly pass the entire VO to Coldfusion from flex without naming each value in the VO?
I have never built a report...is there a how to build a CF report tutorial? The help is populated strangely and selecting one of these items just passes me to another screen populated in the same manner and still no detailed instructions are ever listed. What is this...have I loaded the wrong CF report builder, or do I need to download and install a new/newer help file?
We have a existing CFusinMX web site. Recently, we re-set up web server, (changed to Window server 2008), and updated CFusionMX to ColdFusion 11, and ColdFusionBuilder 3.We only need one sub part of coldfusion web application continue to use. So I used ColdFusionBuilder 3 to set up it at DefaultLocal server. If I remotely log in to the server, make sure DefaultLocal CF Servers is running, I can browse to the ColdFusion application web pages locally and remotely. However, as soon as I log off the remote server, the ColdFusion pages cannot display. The Error message shows " This page can't be displayed".I checked back, saw the CF Server "DefaultLocal" was stopped. How to keep DefaultLocal CF server running even I log off remote server?Any suggestion, help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot!Jane
I'd like to demo cfreport using a demo .cfr file...would there be a repository for example code in CF?I'd just like to see how the cfreport tag could help me make our reports colorful and be able to add charts/graphs.Would there be some sample code I could modify for my evaluation of the tag (cfreport).Kevin
Hi everybody,I am a big noob in programming so here my quick question.I used cfdirectory to create a table that show me all my files in my directory and now I want a search function where I can search a specific filename.Example:Searchsite:Name:Reciver:Sender:Directory Table:Header 1invoice 22333444555-6667777888999desadv 22233345555-2222222333444qwop 2333333333333-444444444444invoice 333333333333-6667777888999Now I want to search only for invoice 22333444555-6667777888999 so that the table only contains this one fileinvoice 22333444555-6667777888999 Name: invoiceReciver:22333444555Sender: 6667777888999 or justName: invoiceReciver:Sender: 6667777888999Output:Header 1invoice 22333444555-6667777888999invoice 333333333333-6667777888999Is this possible only with ColdFusion and is it genrelly possible in ColdFusion ? <html> <font face="Arial,Helvetica"> <div style="background: url(http://fs5.directupload.net/images/150928/yqe7ix2v.png); width: fullpx; height: 100px;> <d
I am new to web development, learning everything on my own. I created a simple cf web site with 10 pages all located in the root directory. I have a directory called assets, and within that directory I have several other directories such as css, images, logos, js, php etc. This is where I am storing these files. Web site works fine. Now I am starting to simplify things by placing all of my header and footer information in separate files (in a directory called cf_includes and using <cfinclude template="cfm_includes/header.cfm"> in all my pages. Everything still works correctly. Now taking it a step further, I moved 5 of 10 of my pages in a new directory called pages, and this is where everything falls apart. When I navigate to pages inside and outside of the pages directory the links break, either I get a cf error include file cannot be found or some of my graphics, logos, cannot be found because the link pointers are the same in the header incl
In reviewing the CFHTMLTOPDF tag, it seemed like it would meet our needs. Everything seemed to test well until things went into production.Continuous requests caused the following error:The content of this document process takes more than 60 milliseconds to process. This timeout value is obtained from the request timeout set in the ColdFusion Administrator. The specific sequence of files included or processed is: C:\Applications\cliq\apps\students\print.cfm, line: 26I was able to easily overload the our test and development servers to cause the same error by repeatedly calling a page with the CFHTMLTOPDF tag.Our interim solution was to restart to the Coldfusion Addon Services on the Windows 2012 server. But I don't think this is ideal as it seems like a relatively low threshhold to be able to crash the process.Does anyone know of any documentation or settings that could be set to avoid this issue? We are currently on CF 11 Update 4 Enterprise Edition. All the best,Terry
I just added msSQL 2014 to a new computer running Windows 7 and CF 11I opened the port 1434 and when I tried to connect the datasource in CF Admin got this message...Connection verification failed for data source: mydb1java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]The connection to the host {0}, named instance {1} has failed. Error: "{2}". Verify the server and instance names, check that no firewall is blocking UDP traffic to port 1434, and for SQL Server 2005 or later verify that the SQL Server Browser Service is running on the host. The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]The connection to the host {0}, named instance {1} has failed. Error: "{2}". Verify the server and instance names, check that no firewall is blocking UDP traffic to port 1434, and for SQL Server 2005 or later verify that the SQL Server Browser Service is running on the host.If I use the computer name alone same. If I enter both computer name and port I get
I have a form which processes a form when a cfinput type submit is clicked (or enter is pressed) and this works fine in Firefox, Chrome and IE 10+.However, when I check this on IE 9 or below the button does not work. the button indents when clicked as expected but nothing actually happens. Any help would be much appreciated.Thanks.
So, I just tried to look up my bookmark to the Adobe ColdFusion Wiki only to be met with an SSL certificate error. Thinking, surely this was a mistake, I added an exception in FireFox and continued only to get redirected to a supposedly new CFML Reference at helpx.adobe.com.Who is in charge of this bonehead move? First off, the new docs can't be edited by the community like the Wiki could. God knows they needed help. Second, there's no search? Only a "Community Search" (whatever that is) that returns: "Error 413 Header too large" when I search anything. Listen, Einstein, if I'm in the reference I don't want to search the Community! I want to search the REFERENCE to quickly find what I need. Oh wait, there's a Search link up top. Let's use that. Search: CFPDF. After waiting 25 seconds for results to come back I get nothing but links to the ColdFusion 9 docs? Brilliant! The level of stupidity in this move by Adobe is hard to comp
I'm a new CF developer and I've been working with Visual Studio and team foundation for several years prior to migrating to Coldfusion, so in advance please pardon my ignorance. We are going to be using ColdFusion Builder 2 as our primary development IDE on our initial development environment. Where my confusion begins is with version control and the potential for additional required software. We will have multiple developers working on various pages, templates, etc. and we've been trying to figure out how to best handle version control. Despite my research I really can't figure out what version control tools(Apache Subversion, TortoiseSVN - Home, etc.) are directly compatible with CF Builder or which are the most recommended. I've reached out to Adobe for their recommendations and haven't received a response, so I figured I'd ask here.
Hi,Sorry to ask but I am struck and don't know where to go on. Any suggestions are appreciated. Here is the structure of the site. All the components are inside the components directory. With et directory, I'd like to create an Application.cfc for that. Files in et directory will call up functions in components directory. I tried to create this.mappings in et Application.cfc but don't seem to recognize or work. What do I need in sub Application.cfc (et folder) to call components?Application.cfc (root application.cfc)-components folder-ce folder-et folder - Application.cfc -index.cfm -test.cfmWith the root Application.cfc, it has the following:<cfcomponent displayname="Application" output="true" hint="Handle the application."> <!--- set up per application mappings ---> <cfset this.mappings = {}> <cfset this.mappings["/components"] = GetDirectoryFro
I'm using CF 9 on windows 8 64bitThis is probably a simple solution. I have a form that will list all of the members of our church club from a given date that is selected from a form field. After the date is selected I will press my submit button and I expect to see the date listed with all of the members that were in the class listed as well. However I am experiencing an error when the page generates. This error reads “The value returned from the meedate function is not of type date.”How can I pass a date variable into my CFC so that it will pass through correctly and display my desired results. Below is the code of my CFC that I am calling as well as the Coding for the page that should display the desired results. The particular function that I am referring to is entitled "brother" of the component called “brother”, and the error code throw when it encounters the variable called '#meetingdate#'. Please let me know if If I am missing something. Thanks in advance for your help. <!--
I'm following this instruction, ColdFusion Help | REMatchNoCase. So I tried this:sites = "training-me";result = REMatchNoCase("/training/", sites);writeOutput(#result#);But I kept getting Internal Server Error. Any help is much appreciated.
We are a very large ColdFusion house in Australia, we have been been supporting a ColdFusion app for the last 10 years and are having a performance issue that we have not seen before. We upgraded from CF9 => CF 11 around a month ago and servers have around 1 week of up time before they experience this issue. We see it as very slow request times (average = around 30-60 seconds instead of <1 second).Whilst the server is in this state, lots of threads are "Waiting on Condition", however until a traditional wait, there is nothing in the stack trace to indicate what resource is being waited for. A restart of the CF service immediately restores performance. This graph (the orange line is avg execution time, blue is count requests) gives an idea of the severity of the problem. Also the affect of the restart (the tail of the orange line on the RHS)GC logs indicate that it is not caused by STW gc.Here you can see lots of workers Waiting for Condition (the purple bits). These stack tr
Several times now after the CF11 service has restarted apps that use cfchart get an access denied error (from Sandbox Security) but the path referenced in the error is incorrect. The error is as follows:"Error","ajp-bio-8012-exec-1","08/27/15","17:35:31","Lab Notebook","access denied (""java.io.FilePermission"" ""C:\website\ajax\messages\cfmessage_en_US_.js"" ""read"") The specific sequence of files included or processed is: C:\website\labnotebook\auth\viewnotebooks.cfm, line: 714 "The error clears up after logging into ColdFusion Admin for the instance.I know the path should be to the CFIDE/Scripts directory (/cfscripts virtual directory in IIS) but I'm not sure why ColdFusion is putting the incorrect path initially.I have not tested without Sandbox Security enabled but will test and report soon.
I don't think a doc site needs https, but it does so with a deprecated SHA-1 algorithm and Chrome shows an ugly warning icon for the URL. This doesn't give confidence to any new CF developers. No tree control for secondary navigation anymore on the lower leftSearch is dumb and slow, for instance if you search 'cfloop', it returns results from CF9 and Cf10 instead of the actual https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/cfml-reference/coldfusion-tags/tags-j-l/cfloop.htmlPlease quickly add a comment module like Disqus or even Facebook comment, it's essential to quickly point out mistakes in the doc in case the doc is not updated. It's too valuable to not have one.
There is at present little to no documentation on using servlets directly in ColdFusion 10. The little documentation there is, is wrong. Please vote for the bug report.
I'd like to demo cfreport using a demo .cfr file...would there be a repository for example code in CF?What's in a .cfr, is it like a css file?Kevin
I just got on to the Adobe ColdFusion community page and was looking through the various questions. Then I noticed that to the right on the page there are links to Adobe ColdFusion documentation, but only for CF 10 and 9. Doesn't Adobe plan on updating this? The budget for the ColdFusion team must be getting smaller by the day, because Adobe doesn't seem to be supporting ColdFusion much at all. For example, as I read on some other people's posts, when you go to the new ColdFusion 11 support page and do a community search, you only get results for 9 and 10. Doesn't someone have the job at Adobe to keep this stuff updated? This is disappointing.
I'm Creating a cfchart for showing current & future projection reportSo i need to customize chart like thisin cfchartseries Upto current date should be normal curve line & future date should be dotted curve lines ..Is it possible? Thanks In advance,
So I've been trying to get cold fusion 11 to work properly inside both Jboss 6.1 and Tomcat 7.0.57 with limited success. It takes at least 5 minutes to move past "loading security..." and when it does the entire JVM seems very strongly bogged down, and only competes it's deployments of all the standard tomcat wars in 562259 ms. Without cold fusion inside tomcat, it starts in 1823 ms.When I run the default CF11 standalone install, everything seems to work quite snappily on the same box. As stated in other threads I'm seeing the "... Connect to 127.0.0.1:8987 [/127.0.0.1] failed: Connection refused http://127.0.0.1:8987/PDFgServlet/" error as well as a few other artifacts and slow pages.I will happily supply logs and details as requested to help me understand what is going on inside ColdFusion, to hopefully find a solution or work-around.Here are the details of the environment:CF Version: 11,0,06,295053Tomcat 7.0.57Java 1.7.0_71RHEL 6.7Oracle instantclient 12_1Thanks--
Can ColdFusion 10 connect to Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 (https://outlook.office365.com/owa/) server? Setting values for CF10 "exchangeServerVersion" are documented as 2003, 2007. or 2010. Does CF11 have this capability?
I am considering leaving hosting.com all together because of their slow response times in the last year or so to my issues and their upgrade paths on CF kinda stink.Has anyone here tried the Amazon AWS hosting with CF 11?Any pitfalls to be away of?How does it perform? How is their support?Any advice here would be great.
