Hello! Dear Sir:  I have an issue that concerns development of coldfusion queries.  I have not had unsurmountable issues with getting SQL (in <cfquery>) to work in order to add, update, delete or join (by union and union all) records.  That said, getting what amounts to be a left outer join just has not worked for me.  Let me state at this time, that I am somewhat accomplished at MS Access and in in every case, including this scenario, I have been successful in getting the output that I seek.  But at some point I see myself moving away from Access and my having to gain expertise in SQL in a non-Coldfusion environment.If you have the time to look over the two attachments, I would appreciate your time.  Note that the table I seek to create via SQL within <cfquery> is correctly dispalyed at the top of the attachment named "Correct Output and Problematic Queries.pdf".  But again, note that this table is based on several queries developed in MS Access

I want to enable a teacher to annotate PDF's that a student has uploaded in my Coldfusion App like Adobe Acrobat X  can do as discussed in the book "Adobe Acrobat X Classroom in a Book: The Document Review Process" without having to download it mark it up with Adobe Acrobat X and then upload the marked up version.  Can Coldfusion so something like this within the application?

I just installed a new CF10 J2ee installation on Linux cluster. The cluster shares common storage. Admin password used during the installation does not work. 1. I have tried various browsers but the behaviour is the same. I am accessing the admin interface from my desktop2. I have also tried resetting the password using the  passwordreset.sh script. The script seems to work but the admin interface does not accept the new password and still gives me the invalid userid password error message.3. As a temporary not so secure workaround I changed the  admin.security.enabled” setting in the neo-security.xml file to "flase" .When I enter the admin interface in this fashion and I try to create data sources , when I hit the submit button I get an error message which says "There was an error accessing this page" Check logs for more details. I installed ColdFusion 10 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 a couple months ago with no problems. I have been testing the server since without it plugged into the network and have had no problems. Yesterday I plugged it into our network and everything worked like a charm with the exception of SMTP. I was troubleshooting SMTP and finally realized this morning that I needed to set the SMTP in ColdFusion. I tried to login to the ColdFusion Administrator and it said it was an "Incorrect Password". I was able to successfully login to the Admin yesterday multiple times but not today. I have run the passwordreset.bat and selected "1" then typed in the new password and confirmed the password then the popup went away. I restarted the ColdFusion service then closed the browser and reopened the browser and typed the password and still received the "Incorrect Password". I also went into the "neo-security.xml" file and changed the "admin.security.enabled" boolean value from "true" to "false" to get into

I am trying to install Cold Fusion 5 on a Windows 7 platform in a XP Professional Virtual Machine.  The software installed with no issues.  However, I have run into a problem with configuring the software.It has been 8 years since I last installed the software (on a Winows 2000 Professional platform) as the part of a certificate program, which I completed successfully and with many kudos at the time.When I try to "browse a .cfm from my old class project ", in ColdFusion Studio, it says I need to do Server Development Mapping.I log into the CF Admiistrator and enter the logical name.  But when I try to browse to retreive the physical location, I dont see the directory list, but instead the icon for "Not Found".Can this software be loaded in a Virtual Machine environment, and if so, what do I need to do to remedy my problem?

My server was recently hacked and I'm looking for malicious code the hacker may have left behind.  I see a number of exe files in the CFIDE folder that were created during the period the server was exposed.  Can you help me know which ones I should quarantine by giving me a list of the one that are supposed to be in that folder?  I'm using ColdFusion 9.  Thanks.

Functionality :     * Create around 40 PDF's using CFPDFFORM tag (each document is 2 pages only)     * Merge all the files using CFPDFProblem:     * CFPDF  merges the document but the first (or last)  document repeated 40 times !     * Tried flattening and merge later, flattening removes all the data populated using CFPDFFORM( i dont want flatten the file first of all)Any help is appreciated

I am having a hard time getting my autosuggest to work. I have a cfinput where a person can type in a last name. I then want to return the full name and employee ID of the person and bind them to two different cfinputs. We are trying to install two hotfixes  (APSB12-26)  and (APSB11-29)  on the server. This server does not have Runtime Java and preferably we do not want to install it. When we attempt to install these hotfixes, it is prompting the below error and document suggest to install JRE / JVM.http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-mx-unable-run-java.htmlWe know that the JRE is available under ColdeFusion folder. I havent used this component in about 2 months however when I call any function from this component I recieve this error. "Branch target offset too large for short" Ive searched and turned up nothing. I tested a really simple component that just returns the argument sent to it even that threw this error. Im testing with CF7 on OS X using Jrun4. Hi. I'm teaching myself ColdFushion.  I'm creating a page to show a list of news articles. I want to show the first 200 characters of the text. I store my data (article content as text) in mySQL. Everyone works except that it's not displaying the first 200 characters of the text. It displays about 30 characters. I've been looking at my code for a long time and tried the "rereplace" method but it doesn't work. Can someone give me a hint on what's missing? Hello. I'm a newbie to ColdFushion. I'm trying to create a page where user can view a list of small pictures. Once he clicks on a picture, its full image will show up in a pop up window. I'm not sure what's missing in my code, but when I click on the small picture, no window nor image will pop up. Can someone give me some suggestions on how to fix this? Th error is webpage cannot be found, can someone point me in the right direction?

I have been workig with Coldfusion for a while now.  Where I work there is a need for web pages to extract data from data sources.  I have been successful at doing this.  Typically I use a form that selects multiple criteria, which when submitted loads a target/action page that displays records that are filtered based on the SQL statement contained on that action page.  What I do is to conditionally check if criteria is passed using cfif.  And if a field parameter is indeed passed it becomes part of the cfquery.  This works out well - especially for reporting.But now I am seeing more and more a need to accomplish the same process - but on a single cfm page.  So the page I seek will have both the form (select) and the recordset results on the same page.  In this exercise I will be caching results od a query and having several queries to further refine what I seek (QOQ).  What I am seeking is the best practice to follow, I was thinking that us

Error received is: "Invalid byte 2 of 2-byte UTF-8 sequence". We have confirmed this problem exist with WSDL files that are encoded as UTF-8, delivered as UTF-8 and declared as UTF-8. These webservices run fine under CF9 environments. Is this an issue with the switch to tomcat?

Finish my codeMy problem is my code surely has the "void ProcessTagRequest(CCFXRequest* pRequest)" function, but after I register my cfx, my cfm keeps giving me an error message: "Native CFX library does not have a ProcessTagRequest entry point."I am guessing it's not a problem in my code, since I could compile my code no any error. I am guessing it's my visual c++ project setting problem, causing coldfusion unable to see my function. Any one has any clue?Thanks.

Hi all,I am attempting SMTP authentication in my script and the email provider (Office365) is using TLS.  When I use the attribute useTLS="yes", CF throws a validation error.  I am running MX 6.1 and assuming the useTLS attribute is not supported.  Is there another way anyone can recommend sending TLS?I'm not sure if this is related, but when I take out useTLS to get the script to run, the email is immediately moved to CF's Undelivr folder.  If Office365 was rejecting the email for lack of TLS, it wouldn't be moved to the Undelivr folder, right?Here's my script, FYI:<cfmail type="plain"to="user@domain.com"from="Webmaster<webmaster@domain.org>"subject="This is a test!"server="smtp.office365.com" port="587"username="myusername"password="mypassword">Test email on #Dateformat(Now(), 'mm/dd/yyyy')#</cfmail>Thank you!
