I am working on a system that signs customers up for workshops. Some of these workshops have limited capacity. The issue comes in that customers could run the same code simultaneously. Two customers could check capacity and find that room is available and the both sign up for the last avilable spot.One solution would be to put a cflock around the code that checks the capacity and adds the customer if there is room. The problem is that we run on multiple servers updating the same database. It would be possible for customers to similtaneously run the same code from different servers. This led me to thinking about using database locks but the way I understand CF data sources is that there is no way to ensure sequential queries go to the same database session. Since database locks are database session based this would make database locking not work.  Am I correct in that?The only way I can think of is to try to do it in a stored procedure and I would rather not. We recently installed and configured a CF10 server on a 08 r2 box. After following the Adobe recommended setup (custom accounts for each of the services - iis, cf) in the lockdown guide and a reboot, cfm pages are no longer properly handled (redirected).The web server trace identifies this as the root problem:144. After a couple months of building a project with no real issues, all of a sudden my pages can no longer find my "ToolInvFunctions.cfc" file. I get this error,"The specified CFC ToolInvFunctions could not be found.The path to the CFC must be specified as a full path, or as a relative path from the current template, without the use of mappings."Like I said, everything has been working just fine until now and I have no idea what I may have done to start receiving this error. Hi i have a website and a hosting package with HOSTEK.com which also gives me the option to use the ISAPI_rewrite. We have been using coldfusion 10 Server and developing applications with YUI tables, JQuery And Coldfusion components.  We have been facing issues when we try to submit a big chunk of Json data to coldfusion cfc component function.  This brings the coldfusion service down.  This really sucks and we have no solution for this yet.  This happens even when the form is submitted with a big chunk of JSON data.  Coldfusion unable to handle this data and hit the service and bring the coldfusion Administrator down.   Below is the sample data sent from the client to server through ajax call.  cfc component receives this data but unable to handle this chunk.  I believe there is no limit for the data being sent from Ajax but when this is received in the cfc function this hits the service.  Any help would be much appreciated?"{""element"":{""ELMNTNAME"":""Engine Stroke"",""ELMNTUOM"":""DISTANCE | millimeter (mm)*"",""ELMNTID"":""1623"",""ANALYSISID"

Hello,I generated a pdf document using PdfLatex (below left) and converted to docx format (below right) and it came out better than any other converter I've tried before but spacing, hyphenation (e.g. pri-mary in first line) and oC symbol does not convert well. The oC is a latex symbol (\celsius in LaTeX). Also the blue colored words are hyperlinked to a glossary and the links are preserved; which I was happlily surprised about. I end up doing some post editing to correct but its time consuming for long docs. Any suggestions to fix the problem(s) are appreciated. Hi,Someone is adding links to my CFM files. I am informed of this almost immediately and remove the offending code. The code is usually to knockoff brand stuff such as Michael Kors and Loius Vuitton.I am on CF 8.1 and Redhat 5.8 versions with latest security patches applied to both. This has been going on for over 3 years now and it is becoming very annoying. I would like a hint or 2 as to how they are accessing my files?boo1949

I'm setting up a new server to test ColdFusion 10 (will be upgrading from 😎 and I don't have the option for MS Access with Unicode from the driver list when adding a new DSN. Based on this referrence (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Admin/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbf364104-7fe6.html) it looks like it should still be included, but I'm not seeing it. Any ideas how to get the option back?

I create a collection by indexing a bunch of .pdf files and then I use CFSEARCH to search for a string in the filename.In CF8 with Verity this was easy:*searchterm*In CF10, even if I don't use the leading * I cannot match any alphanumeric sequence.  For instance I want to search for M1234 in a filename that has M12345678 but Solr finds nothing.  If I get rid of the M and just search for 1234 it will find it.  Some of the strings however it makes a huge difference in the number of results returned.  I need to be able for the user to input an alphanumeric search term and CF return the results.  I'm finding this impossible.

I have coldfusion 10 installed as our main server. I am using sessions to store some information and have set sessiontimeout=#CreateTimeSpan(0,0,45,0)# in the application file but for some reason the session is timing out way before 45 mins - around 10 mins. Is there a reason for this? I thought having the timeout in the application file would overwrite anything set in the coldfusion admin. Is this not true?Thanks

Hello,     I am new to this so bear with me, I am on my laptop with Internet 7, and windows 64 bit I was uable to install adobe flash player.  I was getting all flags from you tube and my on line school that I needed to update my flash player.  So I went to adobe and down loaded the free upgrade.  I could not get past step 2 of the 3 part process.  1.) First time it was because it already existed, so I went in and uninstalled the flash player I did hve (i had already tried the update your version, through adobe, they unistall and reinstall for you) this was a bad idea now I have no flash pllayer and it will not get past part 2.2.) Second flag I was getting was the internet was open and I could not install a new program. Frustrating because I had to have the internet open to install the flash player.  So I tried to save and run, and nope 60% and could not install.  I have tried saving it to a disk and a flash drive, nothing.  It sho
