Hello all,I am trying to install ColdFusion 10 developer version on my personal PC with Win8.1 64-bit.I tried to run installation as administrator and also in administrator command line but without any effect.Please can someone help me with this? I was really excited to learn ColdFusion.

I'm very new to coding and designing, but through following many online resources I finally find my way nearing the end of a finished site.But for some reason, the last few changes I made to my page (adding an image and a text link) only show up when I "preview in safari" or if I include the "www." before my domain name. The domain name on it's own still takes me to a very functional early version of the site, but the new additions don't show up.Is there a step I'm missing? How can I make sure all the changes I make in dreamweaver will apply to my online page without having to specifically include the "www."? Sorry if this went in circles, I would appreciate any help on this matter. Thank you.

Hi,A couple of days ago we bought Standard License for CF10. After implementing the serial number, Edition went from Enterprise (Trial) to Developer. I'm trying to create Powerpoint files on the fly and all works well except for the placement of the content.  It seems to center the content vertically regardless of my margin settings.  Supposedly cfpresentationslide takes marginTop/Bottom/Right/Left as attributes, but it doesn't appear to affect the placement of the content.  The main problem is that I'd like to add my own header to the slide and have it statically located at the top of each slide.  This doesn't appear to be possible.  I've tried every HTML/CSS trick I know of.  Just outputting a simple "Hello World" yields a slide with several hundred pixels of white space at the top.  It almost like it saves room for the header by default, but doesn't give you any way to write into that area.Anyone know of any tricks?Thanks,Eric RichardsonCF10 Standard

In my learning of OOP, I came across a statement indicating that Beans should only be able to get/set properties of themselves.  As such, many times I have a getProperty() and setProperty() for the necessary properties of a Bean.But one of my properties is a struct, and I got to thinking "Well, the nature of this data should allow the user to perform not just 'set', but additional functions to add individual key/value pairs of data to that property.  For example, a property called customHeaders (holds key/value pairs of header names and header values to be constructed when a response is generated) might have functions like:addCustomHeader( name, value )removeCustomHeader( name )clearCustomHeaders()But would functionality like this, because it is modifying property value, be something my ResponseBean would have in it, or is it something to better put into a ResponseService, that can be passed the ResponseBean object and then execute a ResponseService.addCustomHeader( ResponseB

When I first installed CF9 on our Windows 2003, I only chose the Solr search services, thinking that the "ColdFusion 9 search services" was only for Verity, which we did not want.  Turns out, as best as I can tell.  ColdFusion 9 Solr Services will not work without the ColdFusin 9 Search Services. Can anybody quickly point me to documentation on how I can just install this ColdFusion 9 Search Service?  I'm hoping I do not have to do a full CF9 install again.

HiI've been tasked with updating a ColdFusion 9.0.1 installation to the latest patches.  I've started with Hotfix 4.  The installation appeared to go OK, and the services started after I applied the update.  However, when I went to moved onto the next update (APSB13-10) starting by browsing to the update file I ran into a problem.  When I click on the "browse server" button to locate the .jar file for the next update I encounter an error:  "Unable to authenticate on RDS server using current security information".  I've also found that if I try to put the full path into the Update File line and hit "Submit Changes" it errors.This seems to be the same problem as http://forums.adobe.com/message/5256752#5256752, but there's no solution to the problem in that discussion.I've checked the RDS settings, and RDS is unchecked.  I notice that this screen is different from the pre-upgrade screen, but this seems to be as a result of, I think, APSB13-03, which is i

We have CHF2 on our 9.0.1 server plus alll post CHF2 security updates. Just the other day I noticed that a cumulative HF 3 and 4 were released and I must have missed these in early 2013 when they were released. My question is is a CHF2 server with all security updates equivalent to CHF with all security updates? Or did CHF3 and CHF4 get some non security related hotfixes and other enhancements?  I'm asking all of this as I'd like to get to the latest JDK 1.7.And if I should update to CHF4 can I just apply that directly? Or are there possibly a few files in CFIDE and WEBINF or jars that were the non security related hotfixes?

I did some testing, and if I set some private CFC variables in the pseudo constructor on a bean, and then perform the respective setPropertyName( respectiveOptionalArgument ) inside the init() constructor, my setPropertyName() setters properly update the variables.my.propertyName value, and I've dumped this to verify that.The only difference I've seen between adding CFPROPERTY and not, is that when you dump the Bean, there is a presence of a PROPERTIES sub-structure which has the values listed.  This doesn't mean much to me, because my Beans that have instance data all inherit from a BaseBean CFC that gives them a getMemento() function (which dumps the variables.my instance data).The only other thing I could think of that CFPROPERTY does is add an additional level of introspection, which has more value in development environments than production.  Any thoughts?

Hello All,I have a java code to read excel sheet with more than 15000 rows of data. But any one have any idea about how to use the java class in coldfusion. I have a form with Javascript, two buttons "EDIT" and "SORT". There is Jquery-UI code for click and dragging list items that are pulled into the form from a database. When you click button "EDIT", it adds the HTML5 attribute "contenteditable" and adds a class "unsortable" which disable the sort function and allows you to edit in place. When you click "Sort" it removes the "contenteditable" attribute and "unsortable" class and lets you sort again. Problem - If the buttons are outside of the form then it works fine. If the buttons are inside of the form I get an error struct[empty].  Why?  I don't need buttons that pass values, I just need them to trigger the javascript.   Also, it is not a cfform, just a regular html form.There is a 3rd button, SAVE that when clicked will save the edited changes and order to the database. ...I haven't got that far yet. This is the only way I can figure to do an edit in place on this page... any ideas/help would be great!Thanks,gwarmo

Has anyone successfully converted a FILETIME date/time value into a MM/DD/YYYY format using ColdFusion? I am failing drastically, and it seems like an easy conversion.FILETIME format (details: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms724284(v=vs.85).aspx) is a 64-bit value representing the number of 100-nanosecond intervals since January 1, 1601 (UTC).A database I'm working with has such values, and I want to display them in a user-friendly date format within my application.For example, one record is:13003368600The above number represents the following date and time:1/22/2013 @ 2:50 PMSadly I know this only because the FILETIME value gets written to the database by a third-party application, and within that application I specify it in the MM/DD/YYYY format.Can anyone offer me some guidance, or better yet has anyone accomplished this already and want to share code?

I just remotely installed CF 10 remotely on VPS machine running CentOS linux and apache. Install seemed to go fine, and I was able to start CF with no problem. However going to the administrator login (.../CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm) works, but CF tells me that my password is incorrect.
