Hi there - currently we are hosted at Firstserv in the uk but we're considering leasing our own dedicated server from a non coldfusion company (like fasthosts for example) and then installing cf on that box.What sort of cf liscence would we need and what's the most cost effective way to buy it?Currently we use CF8 and are more than happy with it, can one still buy CF8 liscences? or CF9 even?I've seen some pretty high prices (like in the thousands) but I'm hoping they are if you want to host third parties websites.. if you are only hosting your own sites presumably it's not so expensive?Any help very gratefully received.TIANick

HiRecently we are having DSNs disappear from Coldfusion Admnistrator, the problem is intermittent and only affects a few DSNs at a time. Can anyone offer any advice? Is there a document or additional information on the best way to configure multiple instances of CF10 in a production environment? Do most folks install CF10 as a ear/war J2EE deployment under JBoss or Tomcat with Apache as the webserver?

Hi there,Simple problem hopefully in need of a simple solution.I have a page with a single CFDIV bound to a text field. Within that CFDIV is a form which, when submitted, should submit to and then refresh the parent page. I am using ColdFusion.navigate to accomplish this. I wanted to "give back" by posting this little code sample for exporting a query into Excel xlsx Kudos to Charlie Arehart for helping me increase the server memory and java heap size.This code works for me using CF 9 on Windows Server 2008 R2. By the way, CFSpreadsheet seems to consume a lot of memory on larger exports. For this reason, we increased the server's physical memory, then used CF Administrator to increase the jvm heap size in the Administrator -> Java and JVM settings. My max java heap size is now 3072.Need help? Hi There,I am unable to install Hotfix 11.(Windows Server 2008)I kept getting an error id 2 - when the CF service attempted to restart.At first I thought it was because I was using the lockdown guide...So I;Deleted all the request filter rules,Deleted the admin web site,(basically I reverted all the changes I made via the lockdown guide.)I then uninstalled CFReinstalled CFNo Secure profile - no special users etc....A vanilla install.i then did the mandatory update.I then attempted to apply hotfix 11.It refused to install.I installed Hotfix 10 - which was successful.However now, I get a internal server error code 500.it urned on debugging - but I assume the admin turns it off - because I cannot get any debug information to show on the updates page.My CF applications seems to be working correctly, though.If anyone has any ideas I would be appreciative!Gavin.

Hello,I've been asked to install Coldfusion 10 Enterprise on a server.We have a Coldfusion 10 Enterprise upgrade key.I'm having a hard time to find a place at adobe.com to downlaod the install file.Finally I downloaded the trial, hoping it would also be the enterprise version after entering the key.From previous installation documentation of our Coldfusion 8 and 9 servers, during installation, after the screen where the serial is eneterd, I expected to get a screen where I can choose 1.Server configuration 2. Enterprise multiserver configuration or 3. J2EE configuration.With the downloaded ColdFusion_10_WWEJ_win64.exe I only get the choices Server and JEE.Do I have the wrong download, or is the Enterprise option left away in the Installation wizard?Regards,Han

I have installed the mandatory update and was going to finish installing the rest, however when I go to the admin page and updates, the title screen comes up but nothing else. No "check for updates" button or installed updates, nothing.

I've tried to perform a clean install on a Win2k8 R2 x64 server several times and I can't seem to get it to install.I was upgrading from CF 9, which took several attempts. I eventually got CF 10 working and running with the latest updates. But the server would only run for about 15 minutes and everything would come to a screaching hault. ColdFusion pages would fail to load with no error. The pages would hang and wait for the server to respond, which it never did. Restarting IIS would fix the problem.I have about 20 CF sites on the machine. I came accross an article that talked about pool sizes, etc. I ended up trying a few things with the Web Server Configuration Tool, and as I was adding/deleting servers, I got an error that some application unexpectedly quit, but it wasn't the wsconfig tool. This happened about 3 times as I was deleting servers that I had previously added. Then I tried loading the CF Admin and I got a 500.0 internal server error.So I bit the bullet and figured I woul

We are experiencing the SESSION variables resetting in CF9.0.2 between page navigation.As I understand from other forums there was a patch for 9.0.1 to help with this but we are on 9.0.2 which was the cumulative release. Short of recoding every CFLOCATION and HREF. I have not seen a real solution for this issue posted on any forums as of yet.We have checked and looked into the CFapplication (application.cfc) files and making sure the Application, Session, and Clientmanagment are enabled. (So please save us all time and to do not reply with flippant did you try the obvious questions) Is there a real fix for this issue in CF9? Or are SESSION variables useless as of the 9th release?

Hello,I work for a company that has a very old application that runs with CF7 on a SunONE server.  Yesterday we starting getting the notice that our Java plugin was out of date company wide on a specific page with a <CFTree> tag.  After updating the Java browser plugin we now get a Java Authentication Required username and password window. No one has any idea where this login popup is coming from. On a restaurant website I created a coldfusion app that allows customers to upload a pic of themself eating the restaurant's food along with a comment. Once an admin approves their pic/comment, they show up on the "fan pics" portion of the website.I was wondering, once the pic/comment is approved, if I can auto-post that to the restaurant's fb page. Ideally the pics would go to a specific album.Anyone done this already?

Can I install Coldfusion 10 standard on a server running a  Intel Xeon X3450 CPU? This is a server entry level cpu. According to specs found on the Intel website it is a 2.66GHz 4 cores.Would appreciate quick reply.ThxPB
