64 bit version of Connect Add-in

After the upgrade to Connect 8 on June 10, I was able to participate with my team in Adobe Connect for a few days, but today, June 14th, I can no longer get in. I get a pop up window with "The selected resource does not exist." I do the connection test and it says that I need to install the add-in, but I am running 64 bit Ubuntu and the add-in for Ubuntu is only 32 bit. Is Adobe going to catch up to 2011 and make a 64 bit version?

I've just checked the purported 64-bit connectaddin and it is still, as of February 2014, the same bit-for-bit identical copy of the 32-bit version (an ELF 32-bit LSB executable, as reported by lin6432 in January 2012), with the same md5sum as reported by Geremia10 in December 2012, and it still doesn't work (I tested on 64-bit Debian (Wheezy) and 64-bit Fedora 16 and 18).

This seems like a simple mistake to fix, since Heyward Drummond reported having posted a 64-bit version in November 2011.   Either the packager put the wrong file in the November 2011 package, or someone overwrote the package with the current one sometime between November 23 and December 26 in 2011, based on William Adir's note above.

Does anyone at Adobe still read this forum?

Adobe does still read this forum, but the Linux Add-in for Connect was dropped upon the release of Connect 9. So if you are using a version of Connect 9.0 or newer, the add-in wouldn't work.

If you need a Linux add-in for Connect 8 or older, and it is not available on the Downloads page, http://www.adobe.com/support/connect/downloads-updates.html (same links as provided above), then you should contact Adobe Support and see if they can get you a working version.

Adobe Connect Add-in for Ubuntu 64 bit is coming with the next release due here in a couple months.

The Adobe Connect Ubuntu Add-In has been released and is 64-bit. It is posted here:

I downloaded this and unpacked it and eventually found the connectaddin

program but that is for 32 bit.  I have Fedora 15 and it works fine on the 32 bit

machine, but not the 64 big.     The file command says it is 32 bit.

thanks  (I probably am doing something wrong).

A bit of clarification. Adobe has 2 online meeting services - Connect which is designed for large meetings, e-seminars and e-learning situations and ConnectNow which is designed for small groups working together, typically a small/medium business project team is the target use.

It sounds like you're working with Connect, and not ConnectNow. Please visit the Connect pages on Adobe.com for more information about downloads, updates, etc. or contact your account manager for help.
