Acrobat Connect quits

I can start a meeting on my Intel Mac, but if I try to share the screen, Acrobat Connect Add-in quits unexpectedly.

Tried a lot of trashing prefs but still having problems.

Even tried starting Safari under Rosetta.

It didn't work.

I would love to purchase and use Connect, but can't under this circumstance.

same problem here. Anyone have an answer? Ican't find anything in support related to this. Would love to use this instead of webex, which is byzantine, but I need to be able to share the screen at a minimum.
I seemed to have found the problem, or at least this fix worked for me.

When I installed the Connect Add-In I did so through Firefox 2.0.0.3. Well, FF seems to be telling the Adobe download site that my machine is an OS 9 machine (I'm running 10.4.9 on an Intel MacBook Pro) so it downloads and installs the OS9 version of the Add-In. My fix is to trash the Macrodmedia preferences directory (myuseraccount/library/preferences/macromedia) and reinstall the Add-In using Safari.

As I mentioned, this fix worked for me so I hope it helps all of you.

    Good Luck!

    Hello,

I hope someone can help me. And I hope I am in the right forum. Everytime I tried to connect or even download Acrobat Adobe, it cuts off and a error message comes up. I have windows XP. If I am in the wrong forum to get a answer to this question, can you please let me know what forum I have to go to. I hope I am not sounding like a idiot here. However, someone who can help me would be well appreciated. Thank you P.S. I am still learning this technology stuff.

I don't understand exactly why Firefox downloaded the incorrect version of the add-in. However, if you need the meeting add-in installer, you can download it here:

    http://admin.acrobat.com/common/addin/AcrobatConnectAddin.z

The meeting add-in is for Mac OS X.

    Thanks MACR

Only one problem with the 6x0 version of the add-in, I get no audio at all with that one. with version 6x5, audio works, but not desktop sharing. Is there a version of the add-in that supports both sharing and audio?

I'm on OSX 10.4. Also, all the add-ins so far are for old Macs, and run in PowerPC mode which is slow. Are there any add-ins compiled for the intel macs?

mblake, 6x5 natively supports Intel Macs. Be sure you aren't running it on Rosetta.

Since 6x5 is not yet released, you probably aren't actually running it unless you're attending internal Adobe meetings.

    Dave,

Brilliant.... you get 1000 genius points.

One additional thing is to empty your cache and trash before doing this... safari.

    That did the trick.

I am having the same problem and so are many of my colleagues using a Mac. We can participate in a Connect meeting without issues, but we can't present/share our screens. Can anyone suggest a fix?

I have the same problem. To test things out, I created a new user in my MAC and everything seemed to work just fine. So this is a per user setting that is causing the problem. Unfortunately I have not been able to figure out what setting and how to fix it yet...

    Anyone else?
