Question

Add Captions to a Recorded Adobe Connect Meeting

We have several archived meetings using Adobe Connect that we'd like to belatedly add closed captions to for when people view these at home.  Is there an easy way to do this via Adobe Connect, or will we need to download the file and add the CC ourselves and then host that file somewhere else?  The CC Pod appears to only be for adding CC during the broadcast itself.

Thank you

There is no easy way to achieve this. You can use the CC Pod in the live session and it should display the CC's in the recorded version as well, but I don't believe that there is an easy method for CC's in post production. You could create an off-line (FLV) version and then use something like Premiere to add the CC's. The resulting video could still be hosted on the Connect server, or a different server, if desired.

Isn't there a way to reply a saved/recorded Connect session inside a pod within another Connect session?

Make an offline version (FLV) and then load the FLV into the Share pod. Other than that, no, there is not a way to play back a meeting recording within a meeting room.

As an alternative, I do convert meeting recordings to Presenter Presentations, using the audio from the live meeting and the PPT deck that was shared. It's not the most time efficient process, but yields a better result than converting the recording to FLV. It also provides better editing capabilities.
