Adobe Connect classrom - Linux issues

Hi,

I have online classes using Adobe Connect.

I primarily use Linux / Firefox. After signing in the class as Guest, the shows

 

"Preparing the room..."

 

And nothing happens. If I move to windows, on the browser nothing happens. Howver after installing the app, i was able to login. This workaround is a little difficult as I have to use Linux for everything else and its difficult to reboot to windows just for the class.

 

It seems to me, that there maybe some option that the host can change to allow websesions? maybe.

 

Is there a version of Adobe Connect desktop app in Linux.

Any help is much appreciated

P.S. I am the only person using Linux in my class. So the rest of them have no issues.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. I did not see the classic view.

However just solved the problem by adding ?launcher=false to the end of the URL for the meeting (read it on the forum, missed where i saw it)

Dear All,

The solution I found is awesome!!

Change the user agent by going into developer options>console>network conditions and choose a user agent for a mobile device. For example I chose Chrome Android Mobile High End. 

Works like a charm!!! This has been an amazing solution for my job since I was totally waxed and didn't know how to use Adobe Connect on my Ubuntu Linux laptop!!

    It sounds like the group you are taking the class from is having an issue with the part of Connect that delivers the HTML version of Connect. If they resolve that, it will work fine in your browser of choice (other than IE, but don't choose that one). 

     

    Because of the small market share of users on Linux computers, the app for that OS was depriciated many years ago. So you won't find one. However, there should be an option when joining before you click on the Open in browser button, where you can select 'join with classic view'. This will have the meeting launch using your browser's Flash Player, so be sure you have that installed before joining.
