Question

Adobe Connect hangs and never connects

The progress bar gets to about 98% and then never completes the connection in Safari 6.0.5.  Firefox 11 reports that the Flash plug-in is crashing.  I'm running on Mac OS X 10.8.4.  Flash is up-to-date.  Any help would be appreciated.  I'm missing critical meetings.

Hi sandrift71,

We are not aware of any FP crashes on mac 10.8.4. Probably we can investigate more. But till then, you can still attend the meetings in Connect addin rather then in FlashPlayer. You can download latest mac addin from: http://www.adobe.com/support/connect/downloads-updates.html

Hope this helps!

The Connect Addin has already been installed.  These errors are with that add-in installed.

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling it, but I can't find it in ~/Library anymore, or via a system-wide search on "connectaddin" or "addin".

Hi Sandrift71,

Assuming that you using Connect 8 that is why you are searching for connectaddin. Connect 9 addin is named adobeconnectaddin.

Anyways, you can find the installed addin at: : /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/

You can move that folder to trash and re-install the addin from the downloads page mentioned in my last post.

Thanks
