Any recommendations for Getting Up to Speed re: Adobe Connect (learning)

Greetings stalwarts. Like with Captivate, it seems like they stuck the Connect community in the back of the store, where the light is broken or buzzes and flashes intermittently. I can't find a course on Adobe Connect on LinkedInLearning.com. I can't find anything about it in O'Reilly (mysafaribooksonline.com). 

 

Has anyone had any GOOD (dare I say RECENT) experiences involving Connect (Learning) TRAINING? 

 

If you go to the internet to you are awash in generic Connect youtube.com's but how do you know they are going to show what they claim, or know what they are talking about, or that the video turns out to be 8 years old. 

 

I've been 'position-eliminated' for 7 months, and Wednesday, I have a job interview for Learning Technologist, with a job description has the word 'virtual' (...classroom, ...admin, ...learning support)  for a job description (for a Learning Technologist) has the word 'virtual' (...classroom, ...learning support, ...administration) EIGHT times in 15 bullet points. And they list Adobe Connect (and Zoom) for what those 'virtual' words mean in practicality. 

 

I used to use Connect a lot , in the before before times. Are the widgets still called {PODS} at least?

    Well, let's start with the easy answer. Yes, there are still widgets called Pods. There are even 'Custom Pods'. Many can be found here, should you need to have the knowledge of what is out there,  https://www.adobe.com/products/adobeconnect/apps.html. 

    As to learning the rest, there isn't really a good place to go since Connect doesn't get a lot of love in the software training world. I'd probably stick with the Adobe Connect YouTube channel and just go over the videos released in the last year or so. Other than that, sign up for a trial account and go get your hands dirty. I think you'll find that things haven't changed a whole lot from a UI perspectiev. The in meeting Menus are a little different, but you'll figure out what is going on. All the same pods exsit with the same functionality. Connect Central (web UI) will be pretty much exactly as you last saw it.
