I need to connect a video camera through a Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder into Connect in a Mac. When connected, the camera is visible in a variety of other softwares. In Connect, the Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorders available in the Webcam list, but only the audio comes through. The video is black.

What is needed from Connect to see the video coming from the external camera thorough thins box?

Does it require an intermediary software? A certain resolution/frame rate combination?

Thanks!

The Adobe Connect Video pod will display video at the following resolutions and frame rates, based on what you have the settings for the pod at (from lowest to highest quality):

320 X 240 at 8 fps

320 X 240 at 10 fps

640 X 480 at 15 fps

640 X 480 at 20 fps

You should set the Blackmagic to one of those settings and see if it works.

Will Adobe Connect accept inbound video/audio from 1) uStream or YouTube Live? Or from a PC-based production software like Wirecast or Boinxtv?

Adobe Connect only accepts video from sources seen as webcams in your OS. For audio, it may, but you'd have to verify that it was available in the list of applications available to choose from in either the Audio Setup Wizard or in the Settings options found by right clicking in the room.
