Question

Breakout rooms disconnect

When I used adobe connect to teach an online course from April to June, one section of the course worked perfectly (11 students); in another section (16 students), students were kicked out of break out rooms into main room all the time and in some instances the system crashed after students were kicked out. The only difference between the section that worked fine and the one that did not was # of students, but it was a very small difference. This is a problem that multiple faculty faced - not only in the institution where I teach, but also elsewhere: http://www.connectusers.com/forums/post/34978/#p34978

What are the sources of the problem? number of students? number of rooms? size of rooms? there must be some parameters that influence negatively the experience, and we must know them to plan for our courses.

thanks

Have you reached out to Adobe Support? They should be able to review your account and see what issues are happening. Adobe Connect Help | Adobe Connect Support

I am trying to see through the university IT area who specifically to contact in Adobe, but in the meantime I posted this here because it seems to be a common issue - multiple faculty at my university faced that problem, and the link I provided above shows that other people face it as well. From 10+ sections of different courses that tried to use breakout rooms, only 1 section worked well (the one I mentioned above) - so the odd case seems to be the section that worked well; the default case is so problematic that faculty started using google hangouts instead (for the breakout rooms). I want to find the root of this problem so I dont' need to use 2 different platforms in the same online course.

I would start with the contact link above, unless you have an on-premise account, which would then allow you to contact Platinum Support. Either way, working with Adobe support directly will be your best course of action. However, when you do get a resolution, posting here so other users know how to resolve the issue would be appreciated.

I do see that others are having the issue, but I've not seen any resolutions. If you do get a bug number, you can post it here as well, so others may easily report that they too are experiencing the issue and Adobe will be more likely to quickly create a resolution.
