Breeze not accessible

Dear all
I tried configuring Breeze with SSL with no success. Hence I had to rollback to http by reloading original adapter.xml, vhost.xml and custom.ini. Now all services start with no problem but when I hit the website, it comes up with "cannot find server". I have confirmed all 3 files to be original one.
Is there any way of resolving this issue?
